Rc Gas Planes - Watch Out! They're Fast..


Radio controlled airplanes (RC airplanes) enthusiasm is growing because of its advanced technology and its relatively cheap pricing.

Gas Airplanes:

You have the choice to fly your airplane with gas or electric motors. You can very easily learn to fly a Gas airplane. It is a thrilling experience and highly rewarding to pilot an airplane powered by methane gas. Compared to electric airplanes they are very fast. The trainer will help you to assemble the airplane. The following tips will help you to do well.

Types of Gas Airplanes:

The Craft Hornet gas powered airplane was designed by Ray Smith in 1939. He used 0.49 to 1.5 engines, the wingspan being 48” with the wing area of 306 squints. This model is available now with few changes. The prototype engine is very light (3.5 oz.). The rating of the engine is 1/7 hp at 6500 rpm. This is a Sport model, and it can be used for building your flying skill.

Model kit:

The above gas powered flight model kit is readily available with instructions, printed wood, hardwood, wire, tissue covering, clear sheet plastic, balsa sheet wood and rolled plans used for model kits. You may further need a fuel tank, propeller, wheels, building board, tools, paint and engine. The approximate price may be around $35.

Craft Wasp Model:

The craft wasp model was designed by Robert Milligan a Senior Canadian Champion in 1939. This became an eligible design for the Society of Antique modelers contest. The wingspan being 60” and is fitted with 0.15 to 0.25 engines. You can have this free flight gas powered model kit with printed wood, hardwood, wire, balsa sheet, strip wood, tissue covering, and instructions. You may have to add the fuel tank, engine, wheels, building board and finish it with a good paint job. This model is also meant for Sports to enhance your flying skill. The price will be approximately around $45 onwards.

Likewise there is another kit which is ideal for the beginner using gasoline powered models. The wingspan is 50”. The aircraft is designed with Class A gas .49 to 0.09 engines. This contains all the required wood and sheet. The rate will be approximately $ 35.
